Meet our passionate team of teachers!
Mr. Roda
Mr. Roda has been teaching at Higher Learning for 32 years since its establishment in 1993. He teaches ELA and Math for 6th and 7th grade and teaches Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT) and Algebra I Regents exam preparation for 8th grade. He is passionate about teaching and has extensive knowledge of the curriculum. About 75 percent of Mr. Roda’s SHSAT prep classes gained admission to a specialized high school.
Mrs. Roda
Mrs. Roda has been teaching at Higher Learning for over 30 years. She specializes in teaching young children, specifically third and fourth graders, in ELA and Math. She cares deeply about her students and is very optimistic and patient with them.
Mr. Siu
Mr. Siu has been teaching at Higher Learning for over 22 years. He teaches ELA and Math to 5th and 6th graders and teaches writing and grammar to 3rd graders. He is patient and humorous and his students enjoy his personality and teaching style.
Ms. Yang
Ms. Yang has been teaching at Higher Learning for over 15 years. She is experienced in teaching children and at Higher Learning, where she teaches ELA and Math to 2nd graders. She is compassionate and ensures her students develop their educational foundation and creative abilities.

Mr. Estrada's expertise in ELA, basic arithmetic (through Algebra and Geometry), public speaking, and acting techniques. He did a lot of peer tutoring for students that were struggling with writing and public speaking. He's an active educator over the past twenty years, have worked with many different institutions and clients.
